World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia to take place at midnight
VOV.VN - The Vietnam vs Saudi Arabia match in the final World Cup qualifying round will be held at 8 p.m. on September 2 (local time), meaning the game will start at midnight on September 3 (Hanoi time), according to the schedule released by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
Ahead of this crucial fixture, the senior squad will take on the U22 team in a friendly on the afternoon of August 19. Following this match head coach Park Hang-seo will then select a final list of 25 footballers ahead of flying to Saudi Arabia on August 27.
Vietnam will compete in a home game against Australia in Hanoi on September 7, with the tie likely to take place behind closed doors at the My Dinh National Stadium due to fears regarding COVID-19.
Elsewhere, the national women’s football team will play Afghanistan, the Maldives, and hosts Tajikistan in Group B in the qualifying round of the 2022 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup.
Both games against Afghanistan and the Maldives will kick off at 7 p.m. (local time), or 9 p.m. (Hanoi time), on September 23 and September 26, respectively.
