VN fencer wins men's title at SEA Fencing Championships
VOV.VN - Vietnamese fencer Nguyen Tien Nhat won a gold medal at the Southeast Asian and Pacific Fencing Championships which is underway in the Philippines.
The athlete hailing from Ho Chi Minh City triumphed in the men's single epee after beating his teammate Nguyen Minh Hieu in the final match on July 11.
This represents an important international prize for Nhat, who also won a gold medal at the recent SEA Games 31 in Vietnam.
Vietnamese fencers completely dominated the championships in the men’s single epee, with four qualifying for the semifinals. However, they failed to win any medal in the men's single sabre and women’s single foil.
The local fencers will continue to take part in both the men’s and women’s sabre, foil, and epee team on July 13 - 14.
