V.League 1 ready to welcome return of fans from March 13

VOV.VN - Local authorities have granted permission to top-flight football clubs to restart the V.League 1 season and host limited crowds at stadiums amid fears regarding the potential spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The third round of the 2021 V.League 1 season is scheduled to restart on March 13, with fixtures being played between 10 leading domestic football clubs across the country.

The fixture list will see the league restart with a match between SHB Da Nang FC and Ha Tinh FC, which will take place in front of 2,000 supporters at the Hoa Xuan stadium in Da Nang.

Hai Phong, a city that became a COVID-19 hotspot during the latest COVID-19 wave to hit the country, will welcome back 5,000 supporters at the Lach Tray Stadium for their club’s match against rivals Hanoi FC. After two matches played Hai Phong FC are currently top of the V.League 1.

Elsewhere, the administration of the COVID-19 hotspot of Gia Lai province have granted permission for the Pleiku stadium to open at 30% capacity for the upcoming tie between Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) FC and Binh Dinh FC.

In the capital, the Hang Day stadium will welcome a maximum of 2,000 supporters for the game between champions Viettel FC and Becamex Binh Duong FC.

The restart of the league will only see one match played behind closed doors, with the fixture between Quang Ninh FC and Ho Chi Minh City FC at the Cam Pha stadium set to go ahead with no fans present.

Providing that the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control in Quang Ninh province, the Cam Pha stadium may see the return of spectators again after several rounds of matches.
