Vietnam’s youth volleyball team to compete in Thailand

Vietnam will play Malaysia in the first match of the Southeast Asian Junior Women’s Volleyball Championship on July 16 in Thailand.

The tournament has drawn eight teams in two groups. Vietnam is in Group B together with Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia.

Group B has the Philippines, New Zealand, Singapore and the host.

Vietnamese players, many of whom were outstanding at the recent national championship for youths, started training for the tournament in early June under Japanese coach Shuto Koichi.

After Malaysia, they will play Indonesia on July 17 and Australia a day later.
