Vietnam’s U22s depart from HCM City for SEA Games 30

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese U22 men’s football team departed Ho Chi Minh City for the Philippines on November 22 in preparation for their participation in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

Ahead of their flight to the Philippines, the team held a training session at 10am on November 22.

Head coach Park Hang-seo meets with the coaching staff of the Vietnamese women’s football team at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The Vietnamese women’s football team go into the tournament as champions, having previously won the women’s football event at the SEA Games 29. Meanwhile, the men’s national side enter this year’s tournament determined to win their first ever gold after 30 years of waiting.

Many supporters present at the airport take advantage of the time to take photographs and ask for signatures from their favourite football players.

As the squad’s two overage players, Nguyen Trong Hoang (pictured) and Do Hung Dung will have to carry plenty of responsibility during the team’s participation in the SEA Games 30.

Brothers Bui Tien Dung and Bui Tien Dung are set to play key roles for Vietnam’s U22 squad.

Ha Duc Chinh has been selected as one of the team’s two strikers, alongside fellow forward Nguyen Tien Linh.

Nguyen Quang Hai has been named as captain of Vietnam’s U22 team by head coach Park Hang-seo. The midfield maestro has previous experience of captaining the Vietnamese team during the qualifiers for the AFC U23 Championship 2020.
