Vietnam’s top female shuttler climbs to 11th in World Tour rankings
VOV.VN - Nguyen Thuy Linh, Vietnam’s leading badminton player, has risen to 11th in the BWF World Tour Rankings with 28,160 points following a strong showing at the Malaysia Masters 2025.

Although she exited the tournament in the quarterfinals after losing to world No.2 Wang Zhi Yi of China, Linh impressed by defeating 2019 world champion Pusarla Venkata Sindhu of India (world No.16) and Denmark’s Line Christophersen (world No.35) in earlier rounds.
Her performance earned her 5,000 ranking points and a bonus of VND70 million.
In the overall BWF World Rankings, Linh also moved up two spots to reach 24th. Notably, she recorded the tournament’s second fastest smash at 374.8 km/h, just behind Thailand’s Intanon Ratchanok, who hit 390.9 km/h.
Linh is now set to compete at the National Badminton Team Championship in nothern Ninh Binh province before heading to Jakarta for the Indonesia Open from June 3 to 8. She will then continue her tour with appearances at the US Open from June 24–29 and Canada Open from July 1–6.
