Vietnamese women’s national team to gather for ASIAD 19
VOV.VN - After recently completing their FIFA World Cup campaign, the national women's football team are to gather at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center on August 10 to prepare for the upcoming Asian Games (ASIAD) 19 which will be held in China in September.
The plan involves Vietnamese head coach Mai Duc Chung calling up 25 players to take part in the training course.
However, Vietnamese midfielder Thuy Trang and talented striker Huynh Nhu have not been included in the list. According to some sources, Nhu is still waiting for the approval of Lank FC to join up with the national team to compete in the tournament.
As scheduled, the training course will last until August 19. After that, the team is due to move to Hai Phong to continue training before then flying to China to compete in ASIAD-19.
Vietnam have been drawn in Group D alongside Japan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. They will compete in the group stage which will be held at Wenzhou Olympic Stadium from September 23 to September 29 in Wenzhou city of Zhejiang province in China.
