Vietnamese women to compete in Asian volleyball championship

VOV.VN - Vietnam will take part in the 2023 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship which is scheduled to take place from April 25 to May 2 in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

Vietnamese players aim to gain international experience ahead of their campaign at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32) which will be held in Cambodia this May.

The event will attract eight leading teams from around the continent and hosts Vietnam.

Vietnam will play in Group A alongside Paykan of Iran, Hisamitsu Springs of Japan, and King Whale Taipei of Chinese Taipei on April 25, April 27, and April 29, respectively.

Group B sees Altay VC of Kazakhstan clash with Diamon Food – Fine Chef Sport Club of Thailand, Liaoning Donghua Volleyball Club of China, Khuvsgul Erchim VC of Mongolia, and Hip hing VB Club of China.

The 2023 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, the 23rd of its kind, has been organised annually by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam (VFV).

The winners of the tournament will qualify for the 2023 International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship.
