Vietnamese team comes third at International Slingshot Open
VOV.VN - Local athletes brought home third prize in the team event of the World Slingshot Association (WSA) International Slingshot Open 2024 which concluded on October 20 in Shanghai in China.
Upon finishing the two-day competition, the Vietnamese team ranked third among a total of 20 global teams. The hosts China took the lead in the team event.
In terms of the individual events, four out of a total of seven Vietnamese athletes went through to the semi-final round of the competition.
This year, the International Slingshot Open drew the participation of 600 competitors from 17 countries from around the world. The Vietnamese team consisted of seven members hailing from Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Hanoi, and many clubs nationwide.
The Vietnamese team also participated in the World Slingshot Association Congress within the framework of the WSA International Slingshot Open 2024.
The Vietnam Slingshot Championship will also take place for the first time in the northern province of Thai Nguyen in June, 2025.
This will be the largest official tournament of its kind ever held in the nation, gathering together the top athletes from across the country.
