Vietnamese shooters clinch gold at Asian Rifle/Pistol Cup 2025

VOV.VN - Vietnamese shooters Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy claimed a gold medal on February 12 in the 10m air pistol mixed team category at the ongoing 2025 Asian Rifle/Pistol Cup which is being held at the SAT Shooting Ranges in Bangkok in Thailand.

According to the schedule, Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy faced off against their Indonesian opponents in the final.

Despite falling behind 10-0 after the first five shots, the Vietnamese duo staged a strong comeback, ultimately securing a 17-14 victory to claim the gold medal. This marks Vietnam’s first shooting gold of the year.

The tournament features 280 shooters from 22 countries and territories.

Alongside Huy and Vinh, the Vietnamese squad includes notable names such as Paris Olympian Le Thi Mong Tuyen and SEA Games champions Phi Thanh Thao, Nguyen Thuy Trang, and Ha Minh Thanh.

Up next, the Vietnamese shooters will compete in the men’s and women’s 10m air pistol qualifiers, with both Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy set to take part.
