Vietnamese players dominate Mandiri Cup Best XI
VOV.VN - The official fan page of ASEAN United FC on August 27 unveiled the Best XI of the ASEAN U23 Mandiri Cup 2025, with Vietnam’s U23 team accounting for more than half the lineup.
On the back of their emphatic win over hosts Indonesia in the final to secure a third straight title, Vietnam contributed six names: defenders Nguyen Hieu Minh and Pham Ly Duc; midfielders Nguyen Xuan Bac, Nguyen Van Truong, and Nguyen Phi Hoang; and forward Nguyen Dinh Bac.
Despite reaching the final, Indonesia placed only two players-center-back Kadek Arel and striker Jens Raven. The Philippines, who exited in the semi-finals, had three representatives: goalkeeper Nico Guimaraes, right-back Noah Leddel, and midfielder John Lucero.
Notably, Thailand failed to have any players named in this year’s best squad.
