Vietnamese national team set to receive huge bonus
VOV.VN - The Vietnam national football team will be given a generous bonus if they win over Thailand in the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final.
Accordingly, KingSport, a sporting goods retail company which offers treadmills, bicycles, massage chairs, and machines, has decided to award VND600 million for the national team if the "Golden Star Warriors" can go on to claim the championship.
Furthermore, no matter what the final result, the company will also present VND100 million to striker Nguyen Xuan Son, who put in several outstanding performances in previous matches.
Son has set many new milestones, becoming the first Vietnamese player to score seven goals in an ASEAN Cup and setting a record of scoring in four consecutive opening matches for the national team, surpassing the 28-year record set by former striker Le Huynh Duc.
Earlier, the Vietnamese team also received a bonus of VND1.2 billion from Dong Luc Sports Group, the sponsor of the Vietnamese team's uniforms, after a 2-1 victory over Thailand in the first leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final.
After the second leg of the semi-final played on December 29, Acecook Vietnam, the main sponsor of the team, also gave a bonus of VND1 billion and businessman Nguyen Van De, former chairman of Thanh Hoa club, gave a bonus of VND500 million.
According to the schedule, the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand will take place at 8:00 p.m. on January 5 at Rajamangala Stadium.
