Vietnamese golfers to compete in Asia-Pacific tournament
VOV.VN - Two Vietnamese golfers Nguyen Anh Minh and Nguyen Duc Son will represent Vietnam by competing at the prestigious Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC), with the event scheduled to take place from October 3 to October 6 at Taiheiyo Club Gotemba in Japan.
Accordingly, the first round will see Minh play in the same group as Xihuan Chang of China and Masato Sumiuchi of Japan, while Anh Son has been placed in a group with Yutaka Toyoshima of Japan and Amadeus Christian Susanto of Indonesia.
This year, the tournament has attracted the participation of 120 leading amateur golfers from 40 countries. First held back in 2009, the AAC has been organised at various locations throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
This comes after talented Vietnamese golfer Nguyen Anh Minh, with a six-over 290, finished among the top seven of the four-day ACC 2023 held at the Royal Melbourne course in Australia.
Meanwhile, this is the first time that 17-year-old golfer Nguyen Duc Son has competed at the tournament. Son was the winner of the 15th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final held in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
