Vietnamese golf team to return to Asian Youth Games after 12 years
VOV.VN - Vietnam will field its golf team at the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain from October 22-31, marking the nation’s first appearance at the regional event since 2013.

The team will compete across four divisions: men’s individual, women’s individual, men’s team, and women’s team.
Rising star Nguyen Anh Minh is among the leading contenders for Vietnam. In July, he became runner-up at the 2025 US Junior Amateur Championship in Oakland Hills, United States, the highest finish ever achieved by a Vietnamese golfer at the prestigious junior tournament. This result helped Anh Minh climb to 36th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).
On the women’s side, Le Chuc An is expected to contend for medals. In August, she secured her third consecutive national golf championship title, maintaining her top position in Vietnam’s female rankings and advancing to 273rd in the world’s women amateur rankings.
Vietnamese golfers previously competed at the 2013 Asian Youth Games in China, represented by Nguyen Thao My, Truong Chi Quan, and Dao Phuc Hung, but left without medals.
The 2025 edition will be the fourth in the history of the Asian Youth Games, after the 2017 and 2021 editions were canceled. The tournament will gather top young talents from across Asia, providing an important platform for Vietnamese golfers to hone their skills ahead of future international tournaments.
