Vietnamese gamer finishes joint-third at inaugural FC Mobile World Championship
VOV.VN - Vietnamese esports player Pham Anh Tu, competing under the handle FPLxChanh, secured a joint-third place finish at the inaugural FC Pro Mobile World Championship 2026, which concluded in Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK), on October 25.
Tu took home US$20,000 in prize money after a tight 3-2 semi-final loss to Thailand’s KOG.RYU77, who went on to claim the world title. Down 0-2, the Vietnamese player staged a dramatic comeback to tie the match 2-2 before narrowly falling 6-5 in a final penalty shootout.
Tu was the sole representative among four Vietnamese competitors to advance past the group stage. He topped Group F, then eliminated Brazilian contenders Reiss06 (2-0) in the Round of 16 and eLibertadores Mobile 2026 champion Davizin7 (3-1) in the quarter-finals.
The result marks Tu’s second major international achievement in two months, following his runner-up finish at the Mid-Season Playoffs in Bangkok in August. In total, he has accumulated US$40,000 in prize money across both tournaments.
The tournament, organized by EA Sports from October 21 to 25, attracted 32 top global players competing for a total prize pool of US$250,000.
Tu’s bronze medal marks a proud milestone, proving that Vietnamese gamers are fully capable of competing at the highest levels of global esports.
