Vietnamese futsal team to arrive in Spain for training trip
VOV.VN - Vietnamese futsal players will be flying to Malaga, Spain for a training course with the aim of earning a ticket to enter FIFA futsal World Cup 2020’s finals.
After 10 days of training in Vietnam, Coach Miguel Rodrigo decided to select only 16 players to begin the training sessions abroad. They are expected to have three friendly matches against local clubs.
The Vietnamese team will meet Real Betis FS on February 27, UMA Antequera on March 3, and Jaen on March 6.
They are due to attend practice matches with Granada Selection and Sima Peligros on March 1.
However, after the training course, 6 Vietnamese futsal players, including Ton That Phi, Dang Anh Tai, Chau Doan Phat, Ho Van Y, Nhan Gia Hung, and Chu Van Tien, will stay back in Spain to continue practicing with three different clubs for about one month.
Vietnam’s main target this year is securing a ticket to the Southeast Asian Championship 2019 in October, which is also a qualification tournament for the Asian Championship 2020, which is scheduled to take place on October 21-27.
The team will have to enter the top 5 of the Asian Championship 2020 to earn a ticket into FIFA futsal World Cup’s final.
