VOV.VN - Local e-sports team V-Gaming has won the Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2022 after defeating ONE Team of Taiwan (China) in the grand final match on July 10.

Despite losing the first set, the Vietnamese team was able to reverse the situation and were able to take the lead in the following four sets, with the final score a 4-1 victory for V-Gaming.

As a result, the local e-sports team pocketed US$700,000 for winning the championship title.

Nguyen “Maris” Quoc Huy was named as the best player of the championship and received a cash prize of US$30,000.

The sixth version of the AIC had a total prize of up to US$2 million, the largest prize pool in the tournament’s history. The AIC 2022 took place from June 16 to July 10 and featured the 16 strongest e-sport teams from 10 regions around the world.

Back in 2019, the championship title went to Team Flash of Vietnam. V-Gaming is therefore the second Vietnamese representative to bring the title back to the nation.
