Vietnamese duo claims gold at Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championships

VOV.VN - Nguyen Van Tuan Anh and Nguyen Duc Viet came first in the boys’ U15 doubles of the Southeast Asian youth table tennis championships which closed on April 22 in Indonesia.

The duo managed to overcome Malaysian rivals Lai Yong Ren and Chan Yi Jack in the final match to bring home the only one gold medal for Vietnam at the regional tournament.

Meanwhile, pair Van Chi and Linh Dan won a bronze medal in the girls’ U15 doubles.

Vietnam sent a total of eight male and eight female athletes to compete in the U15 and U19 categories in the Southeast Asian table tennis tournament which ran from April 17 to April 22 in Indonesia.

At the previous edition, the Vietnamese table tennis team clinched three gold, one silver, and three bronze medals, earning them a spot at the 2024 Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships.
