16 Vietnamese players to compete at regional table tennis championships

VOV.VN - Vietnam will send a 16-member squad to the Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championships, set to take place from April 17 to 22 in Indonesia.

The team consists of eight male and eight female athletes competing in the U15 and U19 categories. Among them is Nguyen Duy Phong, who made history by securing Vietnam’s first-ever gold medal in the boys’ U19 singles event at last year’s tournament.

Other notable players include Manh Luong and Nhat Nam, the reigning champions in the boys’ U15 doubles, as well as Manh Cuong and Hoang Lam, who claimed victory in the boys’ U19 doubles in 2024.

The event will bring together young talents from across Southeast Asia. At the previous edition, Vietnam’s table tennis team clinched three gold, three silver, and four bronze medals, earning them a spot at the 2024 Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships.
