Vietnamese dancers win six golds at SEA Championship Standard Adult

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese dancesport team has won a total of six gold medals at the ongoing Southeast Asian Championship Standard Adult 2026, held in Manila, the Philippines.

The duo Nguyen Doan Minh Truong (Phan Hien) and Thu Huong secured three gold medals in the Latin category, including Samba and Paso Doble.

Three additional gold medals were awarded in the Standard dances, with Vietnamese athletes triumphing in Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz.

On the same day, the national team also collected five silver medals and one bronze medal. In the Latin category, the pair Ngoc An and To Uyen earned silver medals in Cha-cha-cha and Rumba. Meanwhile, Trung Thuc and Ngoc Anh claimed silver medals in Tango and Quickstep. The pair Anh Minh and Truong Xuan won a silver medal in the Standard all-around category.

In the individual and junior divisions, Hoang Ngoc and Hoang My Sasaki each secured two silver medals in the women’s adult and junior categories.

With these results, the Vietnamese team currently lead the overall medal standings and continue to affirm their strong position in the region, particularly in Latin dances.

The tournament, part of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) system, features 176 athletes from 12 regional teams and will conclude on April 21.
