Vietnam to host Asian Dancesport Championship this July

VOV.VN - Vietnam has been granted the hosting rights for the Asian DanceSport Championship 2026, with the event scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from July 9 to 12.

Vietnam has selected its national dancesport team as part of preparations for upcoming international competitions, including the Asian DanceSport Championship.

The continental tournament in July will be the team’s main competitive assignment of the year, with Vietnamese athletes set to compete in the Latin and Standard disciplines in Ho Chi Minh City.

The national team will undergo a training camp in Hanoi starting on March 1, featuring prominent dancers including Ly Van Dung, Nguyen Truong Xuan, Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen and Dam Thuy Linh.

Nguyen Hai Anh and Nguyen Hong Thi have been appointed head coaches, each responsible for their respective event groups during the training programme.

Last year, Vietnam hosted the Vietnam DanceSport Festival 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, which attracted around 3,000 international athletes. The event featured Southeast Asian and Asian-level dancesport competitions and received positive professional assessments from the Asian Dancesport Federation.
