Vietnamese cueists to compete in Belgium

Vietnamese cueists left for Belgium to compete in the World Cup Blankenberge 2018 on June 11.

Vietnam have to first play in the qualifying round to qualify for the main round on June 15-17.

As scheduled, Vo Tan Hoi competed in the qualification yesterday.

Truong Quang Hao, Do Nguyen Trung Hau, Nguyen Duc Anh Chien will compete on June 13.

The country’s leading players Tran Quyet Chien, world No 10, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, world No 14, Ma Minh Cam, Ngo Dinh Nai, world No 20, Ma Xuan Cuong and Duong Anh Vu play in the last qualification on June 14.

The qualification event is fully booked with 149 names and a few dozen hopefuls on the reserve list.

At the Three-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup held in HCM City last month, Vietnamese cueists won three leading positions. Chien made history as the first Vietnamese World Cup champion, while Nai and Nguyen were the runners-up.

The HCM City event winners will be driving force for Vietnam’s efforts in Belgium.
