Vietnamese chess team to head to Mongolia for Asian championship
VOV.VN - The national chess team is set to compete in the Asian Zone 3.3 Chess Championship in Mongolia from April 23 to May 1 in a bid to qualify for the 2025 World Cup.

Vietnam will send a total of five masters, including three male players, to the tournament. Among them is Dau Khuong Duy, 14, who was the youngest Vietnamese chess player to reach the International Master (IM) standard at the age of 11 in 2022.
The top two winners in the Open section will qualify for the FIDE World Cup 2025.
Furthermore, the winner of the women’s section will progress to the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025.
So far, local chess players Le Quang Liem and Pham Le Thao Nguyen have secured spots to compete in the FIDE World Cup 2025 due to their recent outstanding performances.
