Three players to vie for titles in World Junior Chess Championships
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Chess Federation has announced that the national team have departed for Montenegro to compete in the FIDE World Junior Chess Championships 2025, scheduled to take place from February 24 to March 8.

Dau Khuong Duy, 14, is a notable competitor at the tournament after becoming the youngest Vietnamese chess player to reach the International Master (IM) standard at age of 11 in 2022.
Duy now has a total Elo rating of 2411 and maintains his 1564th position in the International Chess Federation (FIDE)’s rankings.
Nguyen Thien Ngan, who has an Elo rating of 1923, is the only female Vietnamese representative in the global tournament.
The list also sees the presence of Nguyen Binh Vy with a total Elo rating of 1926.
They will take part in the Open and Girl categories.
The FIDE World Junior Chess Championships is the first international tournament for the Vietnamese chess team after the Lunar New Year.
Last year Vietnam sent only one player - Pham Tran Gia Phuc - to the tournament, and he finished 18th in the overall rankings.
