Vietnam wins silver at 2023 World Taekwondo Demonstration Championships

VOV.VN - Vietnamese martial artists on August 18 grabbed a silver medal at the first World Taekwondo Demonstration Championships that is getting underway in the Republic of Korea.

A total of 20 teams from hosts Korea, Italy and Vietnam competed in the Recognized class. Vietnam took a silver after losing out to Italy in the group performance, and then clinched a bronze in the final round.

On August 20, Vietnamese martial artists are scheduled to compete in the freestyle class that requires a higher level of difficulty.

The 2023 World Taekwondo Demonstration Championships is part of the 2023 Gangwon Chuncheon World Taekwondo Cultural Festival taking place in the Republic of Korea.

The festival has brought together approximately 15,000 martial artists from 60 countries and territories worldwide.

The Korea competition offers Vietnamese Taekwondo artists a golden chance to hone in skills ahead of their competition at the 19th Asian games (ASIAD) in Hangzhou, China, this September.
