Vietnam wins big at major Asian taekwondo tourney

VOV.VN - Vietnamese athletes won two gold and five bronze medals on April 18 at the 4th Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championship transpiring at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Manila.

In the team event, the Vietnam five-member team of Chau Tuyet Van, Nguyen Thi Le Kim, Lien Thi Tuyet Mai, Le Thanh Trung and Nguyen Thien Phung earned a gold medal.

Nguyen Thanh Huy, coach of national taekwondo team said Vietnam sent 24 athletes competing in 10 events at the tourney. All but two athletes succeeded in their valiant attempt to garner a medal.
