The Vietnamese team featured several former national youth team players and ex-national team veterans, including Nguyen Duc Phu, Tran Van Hoa, Mai Tien Thanh, and Nguyen Huy Hung.

They took an early lead in the 5th minute with a header by Nhu Tuan, before Tran Duc Nam doubled the lead with a stunning long-range strike 25 minutes later.

Vu Manh Duy and Nguyen Duc Phu added two more goals in the second half, sealing the 4-0 win for Vietnam.

In the remaining minutes, coach Nguyen Anh Tuan's squad created several scoring chances but failed to capitalise and extend the lead.

As champions, Vietnam II received a trophy and a US$30,000 prize. Runners-up Cambodia were awarded US$15,000, while Thailand and Timor Leste shared third place, each receiving US$5,000.

Tran Duc Nam of Vietnam II won the Top Scorer award, scoring eight goals in total. He also got the Best Player of the Tournament award.

Thai goalkeeper Nattawoot Saengdara was named the “Best Goalkeeper,” and Laos won the “Fair Play” award.

The tournament was held from July 9–15 at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi) and PVF Stadium (Hung Yen), featuring eight teams from seven countries, including five ASEAN nations (Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste), one guest team from Australia, and two Vietnamese teams.

The event was organised to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Public Security Forces and the 20th anniversary of All People’s Security Safeguard Festival (August 19).
