Vietnam U23 depart for CFA Team China 2026 in Xi’an
VOV.VN - Vietnam U23, consisting of 34 members including 25 players, departed for the CFA Team China International Tournament – Xi’an 2026 on March 22.
For this training camp, the squad feature a blend of established young internationals and several promising new faces. Notably, the team continue to reflect a clear youth development strategy, with the core group made up of players born between 2005 and 2007.
This strategy aligns with the Vietnam Football Federation’s long-term vision of building a strong pipeline for the senior national team, while also preparing for major competitions in 2026, particularly the upcoming Asian Games (ASIAD 20) scheduled for September.
According to the travel itinerary, the team take a flight from Hanoi to Guangzhou before connecting onward to Xi’an later the same evening. They are expected to arrive in Xi’an in the early hours of March 23 (local time), after which they will quickly settle in and begin their first training session to adapt to local weather and pitch conditions.
At the CFA Team China – Xi’an 2026 tournament, Vietnam are set to face the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on March 25, Thailand on March 28, and hosts China on March 31.
