The squad will assemble on March 17 in Hanoi in its first gathering since the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals.

The camp coincides with the March FIFA international window for the senior national team. Assistant coach Dinh Hong Vinh will therefore serve as acting head coach of the U23 side during this period.

The training camp is part of preparations for upcoming competitions, including the men’s football tournament at the 2026 Asian Games, scheduled for September.

The coaching staff will also use the camp to assess players as the team begins building a new core squad after several previous U23 members either moved beyond the age limit or were promoted to the senior national team.

Several players who previously featured in Vietnam’s youth teams have been included in the squad, alongside a number of new call-ups.

Vietnam U23 will train in Hanoi from March 17 before the squad is reduced to 25 players on March 23 ahead of their departure for China.

The CFA Team China International Tournament 2026, scheduled to take place in Xi’an from March 25 to March 31, will feature four teams: hosts China U23, Vietnam U23, Thailand U23 and DPR Korea U23. The teams will compete in a single round-robin format to determine the final standings.

Vietnam will face DPR Korea on March 25, Thailand on March 28, and hosts China on March 31, according to the tournament schedule.
