Vietnam U17 women fall 3-0 to China, face difficulties
VOV.VN - Vietnam U17 women’s team lost 3-0 to hosts China on May 4 in Suzhou, China, leaving them in a difficult situation in Group A at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup.
Earlier in Group A, Thailand beat Myanmar 1-0, putting pressure on Vietnam ahead of their match against China.
China controlled the match, with around 80% possession and 33 shots, while Vietnam failed to register a single attempt.
The hosts took a 2-0 lead in the first half through a brace from Ju Zhitong. In the second half, Cheng Wandi added another goal as China secured a 3-0 win.
With this result, China advance with six points from two matches. Thailand are second with four points, Vietnam have one point, and Myanmar remain bottom without a point.
In the final group match, Vietnam must beat Myanmar to compete for second place in Group A or finish among the best third-placed teams. Vietnam also need to score multiple goals after the heavy defeat to China.
