Vietnam U17 finalizes training camp in RoK ahead of World Cup
VOV.VN - The Vietnam U17 national football team returned to Hanoi on October 29, concluding a 10-day training camp in the RoK ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup 2026.
During the camp, Vietnam played three friendly matches against Seoul FC U18, Cheonan FC U18, and Shinpyeong Club. The fixtures served to test squad depth, accustom players to high match tempo, and refine tactics before the global tournament.
Head coach Cristiano Roland said that facing high-level opponents helped players adjust to the pace required at the international level, recreating conditions experienced during the Asian Cup.
Roland noted that post-match GPS data showed progress in movement metrics, decision-making speed, and on-field reactions across the three games, offering encouraging signs as the team prepares for World Cup competition.
Over the next two weeks, the coaching staff will maintain high training intensity while managing player conditioning to ensure the squad reaches peak fitness for their opening World Cup match.
After a day of recovery, the team will resume training in Hanoi on October 31 and will depart for a final training session and friendlies in the UAE on November 6 before traveling to Qatar for the tournament.
