Vietnam triumph at Jujitsu World Championships in Turkey
VOV.VN - Vietnamese fighters have delivered a stellar performance at the 2026 Jujitsu Full Contact World Championships in Kemer-Antalya, Turkey, finishing top of the overall standings with 14 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronzes.
Gold medallists for Vietnam included Tran Hong An (women’s -63kg and U21), Phung Thi Hue (women’s -45kg), Hoang Thi Nhat Que (women’s -70kg), Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc (women’s +70kg), Nguyen Thi Le (women’s -48kg), Nguyen Thuy Duyen (women’s U18 -63kg) and coach Bui Dinh Tien (men’s Masters 3 -85kg).
Meanwhile, silver medals went to Nguyen Thuy Duyen (women’s U21 -63kg) and Vuong Tran Hoai Thuong (women’s U21 -57kg and women’s championship -52kg).
Turkmenistan finished second in the medal standings with 12 golds, 11 silvers and 17 bronzes, while Kazakhstan came third with 10 golds, 13 silvers and 16 bronzes. A total of 13 teams won medals at the tournament.
The 2026 World Jujitsu Full-contact Championships took place from May 14-17, bringing together 245 fighters from 16 countries and territories. Vietnam sent a 12-member team but still made a strong mark by defeating several powerful opponents, including Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and hosts Turkey.
In June, Vietnamese jujitsukas will begin preparations for the 2026 Asian Jujitsu Championships and Asian Youth Championships in Kazakhstan.
