VOV.VN - Vietnam dominated the 47th Southeast Asia Shooting Championship 2025 which closed in Thailand on October 14, with a total of 29 gold, 18 silver and 9 bronze medals, taking the lead in the overall rankings.

On the final competition day, three marksmen Ha Minh Thanh, Vu Tien Nam, and Tran Cong Hieu entered the final round of the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol division.

Nam clinched the gold medal with 26 points, while Hieu and Thanh secured silver and bronze medals, respectively, contributing one gold medal to Vietnam’s impressive haul in this division category.

According to the Vietnamese coaching staff, the tournament served as a valuable opportunity for athletes to sharpen their skills and gain international experience ahead of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33), scheduled to take place later this year in Thailand.

The championship, held from October 9 to 15, attracted hundreds of competitors from across the region, including a 44-member Vietnamese delegation.

Hosts Thailand finished second with 15 gold, 18 silver, and 16 bronze medals, followed by Indonesia with 11 gold, 14 silver, and 5 bronze medals. Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines completed the standings.
