Vietnam to start AFC U23 Championship 2020 finals against the UAE

VOV.VN - The Vietnam under-23 national football team are scheduled to kick off their campaign at the AFC U23 Championship 2020 finals against the UAE on January 10, 2020, in Thailand.

Manager Park Hang-seo will take charge of the team during the group stage, which will include a fixture against Jordan’s U23s in the second group stage match on January 13.

The team’s first two fixtures are scheduled to take place at the Chang Arena in Buriram.

During the final group match, Vietnam’s U23s will take on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) at the Rajamangala stadium in Bangkok on January 16. Tournament organizers have yet to announce the time of each game.

The AFC U23 Championship 2020 finals are set to get underway in Thailand from January 8 to January 26 next year.

The competition’s best three teams will earn the right to compete in the men’s football event at the 2020 Olympics Games in Tokyo, Japan.

The draw for the competition took place in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 26, with Vietnam being drawn in Group D alongside the DPRK, Jordan, and the UAE.

Host-nation Thailand have been put in Group A, along with Iraq, Australia, and Bahrain.

Qatar, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Syria have been drawn in Group B. Whilst Uzbekistan, the Republic of Korea, China, and Iran make up Group C.
