Vietnam to play Thailand at SEA Games 22
VOV.VN - Vietnam will take on Thailand in group matches of football at the coming 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) to be held in Cambodia in May 2023.
Vietnam will also play Malaysia, Singapore and Laos in the same group B, according to the results of a draw for men’s football on April 5.
Meanwhile, hosts Cambodia will clash with Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and Timor Leste in Group A.
This is the fourth SEA Games in a row that has seen Vietnam play Thailand, including two clashes in group matches.
Vietnam early ended their journey at SEA Games 29 after losing 0-3 to Thailand in group marches. They ousted their Thai archrivals at SEA Games 30 after the two teams drew 2-2 in group matches.
At SEA Games 31, Vietnam defeated Thailand 1-0 in the final match, securing the championship title.
For women’s football, Vietnam will play in Group A alongside the Philippines, Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia, while hosts Cambodia will play Thailand, Singapore and Laos in Group B.
