Vietnam to host first ever aquabike tournaments

VOV.VN - The nation’s first ever aquabike tournaments, including the Aquabike Grand Prix of Binh Dinh and the F1H2O Grand Prix of Binh Dinh, are scheduled to take place in Quy Nhon City in late March next year.

Addressing a press conference held in Binh Dinh province on July 9, Nicoló di San Germano, founder of H2O Racing, said that the locality would become the world’s capital of power boat racing during the race weekends held next year year.

The organisers’ other goal is to see Vietnamese athletes become more involved in the global tournament and win the world championships in the near future, he noted.

Pham Anh Tuan, chairman of Binh Dinh province’s People’s Committee, shared that the event would provide an opportunity for the locality to develop the tourism industry as it will take place at the Thi Nai Lagoon, with the site being an attractive tourist destination in central Vietnam boasting both pristine beauty and breathtaking scenery.

The Aquabike Grand Prix of Binh Dinh will get underway from March 22 to March 24, 2024, and the F1H2O Grand Prix of Binh Dinh will be organised between March 29 and March 31, 2024.

Over 70 athletes from around 30 countries and territories from across the world are set to gather at the tournaments next year.

The F1H2O World Championship is the world’s leading international series of single-seater inshore circuit powerboat racing.
