Vietnam to host Asian Rowing Championships 2025

VOV.VN - Top rowers from across Asia will gather in the port city of Hai Phong from October 11 to 19 for the Asian Rowing Championships 2025, featuring 232 athletes as well as officials and coaches from 18 countries.

Nguyen Hai Duong, Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Rowing Federation, said preparations in Hai Phong are nearly complete and affirmed Vietnam’s readiness to welcome international competitors.

The Asian Rowing Federation and the Vietnam Canoeing Rowing and Sailing Federation will host 40 events-20 men’s and 20 women’s competitions.

At the 2024 edition in Uzbekistan, Vietnam claimed two golds, two silvers, and three bronzes, finishing fourth in the overall medal tally. Highlights included victories in the women's eight and women's coxless pair events. The gold-winning women’s eight crew consisted of key national team members, while the women’s coxless pair was led by Dinh Thi Hao and Pham Thi Hue, who outperformed strong rivals from China and Hong Kong (China).

Vietnam’s rowing squad is expected to compete strongly and aim for medals again at this year’s championship in Hai Phong.
