Vietnam to face Japan,Tajikistan at AFC U20 Futsal Championship finals

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese futsal team has been drawn in Group C alongside Japan and Tajikistan in the AFC U20 Futsal Championship 2019’s final round, as announced by the Asian Football Confederation.

The group will be a repeat of the AFC U20 Futsal Championship 2017 finals where the national futsal team faced both Japan and Tajikistan. During that tournament, Vietnam lost to their Japanese rivals 3-1 and enjoyed a 4-2 victory over Tajikistan.

Drawn in Group A are current champions Iran, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong (China).

Group B includes Thailand, Southeast Asia’s leading futsal team, Lebanon, and Kyrgyzstan.

Whilst in Group D, Iraq, runner-up in the 2017 AFC U20 Futsal Championship, will play Indonesia and Chinese Taipei.

The AFC U20 Futsal Championship 2019 finals are set to take place between June 14 and 22 in Iran. Twelve teams will compete in the round robin competition with the two winners of each group progressing to the quarter-finals.

The Vietnam U20 futsal team will meet up in May after the first leg of the National Futsal HDBank Cup 2019 concludes.

The national team will have one month to prepare for the AFC U20 Futsal Championship 2019 finals.
