Men's volleyball team to compete at AVC Champions League

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese national men's volleyball team is set to represent the country by competing at the AVC Champions League, which is scheduled to take place from May 11 to May 19 in Japan.

According to the regulations of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), spots in the AVC Champions League are granted to the champions of national tournaments across the continent.

In 2024, Vietnam’s Border Guard Club claimed the national championship but opted not to participate in the 2025 AVC Champions League. As a result, the Vietnamese national men's volleyball team was selected as a replacement.

Le Tri Truong, General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, emphasized that this presents a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to enhance their skills and gain experience ahead of the 33rd SEA Games in December.

He noted that the team will compete in three major international tournaments as part of their preparations for SEA Games 33, including the AVC Champions League in May, the AVC Challenge Cup 2025 in June, and the SEA V.League 2025 in August.

The national team will undergo training at the Da Nang National Sports Training Center to ensure optimal preparation for these competitions, Truong added.
