Vietnam tie with Avispa Fukuoka in friendly

Vietnam’s national football team tied 0-0 with Avispa Fukuoka FC of Japan in a friendly match at Can Tho Stadium in the southern province of Can Tho on November 12.

Coach Nguyen Huu Thang used some of his best players in the match. Vietnam dominated from the first minutes of the match. In the eighth minute, striker Nguyen Cong Phuong had a chance to open the score for Vietnam after receiving a pass from midfielder Luong Xuan Truong but he couldn’t convert it into a goal.

Before the first half ended, Vietnam created numerous dangerous situations for Avispa Fukuoka’s goal but they were not lucky enough to find the net.

In the second half, coach Thang changed four players in his formation, however, the Japanese side chose a safe tactic so no goals were made.

It is the first time a team from J-League 1 has competed with the Vietnamese national team.

The event was a warm-up for Vietnam to prepare for the coming AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 in Myanmar.
