Vietnam through to 2019 Asian Cup finals
VOV.VN - The final matches of the qualifying round for the 2019 Asian Cup were played out on March 27, deciding the last 12 national teams to join those who have already secured their progress to the final round of the tournament.

A total of twenty-four teams have won a place in the finals of the 2019 Asian Cup, including the host country of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Uzbekistan, Iran, Syria, Iraq, China, Palestine, Oman, India, Lebanon, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, Yemen, Philippines, Jordan, and Vietnam.
Of the 24 teams through to 2019 Asian Cup finals, the Southeast Asian region has 3 representatives including Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Thailand progressed after securing a first place finish in Group F of the second qualifying round. Vietnam and the Philippines earned their berths through success in the third qualifying round.
This is only the second time that Vietnam have won a place in the final round of the Asian Cup. Earlier, in 2007, Vietnam hosted the competition, though their campaign ended at the quarter-finals stage with a 2-0 loss to Iraq.
The draw for the finals of the 2019 Asian Cup is scheduled for May 4, 2018 in Dubai. The 24 nations will be divided into 6 groups of 4 teams. The first and second placed teams of each group and 4 third placed teams will go through to a 16 team knockout stage.
The final round of the 2019 Asian Cup will be held from January 5 to February 1, 2019 in 8 stadiums across 4 different cities of the UAE.
