Vietnam take 2025 Asian Women’s Beach Handball Championship trophy
VOV.VN - Vietnam bagged a gold medal at the 2025 Asian Women’s Beach Handball Championship with a 2-0 win over the Philippines in their final match in Oman on May 15.
The team dominated both sets, winning 22-16 and 24-20.
With this triumph, the Vietnamese team remained undefeated in all sets throughout the entire tournament. They defeated India, Hong Kong (China) and the Philippines.
This marks a historic third consecutive Asian championship title for the Vietnamese women’s beach handball team, who also won gold in the 2022 and 2023 editions of the competition.
The tournament, running from May 8 to 15, features four teams - Vietnam, India, the Philippines, and Hong Kong (China). The teams compete in a double round-robin format, with the top team crowned champions.
The players are scheduled to return to Vietnam on May 16, and shortly afterward, they will compete in the Vietnam National Beach Handball Championship, which will take place in Ba Ria–Vung Tau from May 20 to 30.
