Vietnam still ranks at 136th place in FIFA ranking
The men’s national football team of Vietnam remains at 136th place in the FIFA ranking in March 2017, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
The Vietnamese team ranks 22nd in Asia and 3rd in Southeast Asia, following the Philippines (No. 124 in the FIFA ranking) and Thailand (No. 127).
In Asia, Iran is still the strongest team, followed by the Republic of Korea, Japan and Australia.
The world’s top 10 positions are also unchanged with Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Chile taking the highest places.
The national team of Vietnam will gather on March 20 to prepare for a friendly match with Chinese Taipei. Later, it will play in the qualifying round of Asian Cup 2019, in which Vietnam is in Group C alongside Jordan, Afghanistan and Cambodia.
The results of these matches will affect the team’s position in the FIFA ranking in April, the VFF said.
