Vietnam retain SEA top position in latest FIFA rankings
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese national men’s football team retained their leading position in Southeast Asia following their recent FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the world’s football governing body said in its latest rankings released on November 30.
The national team were deducted 0.67 points after trouncing the Philippines 2-0 and losing 1-0 to Iraq in the recent second round of Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
They maintained their 94th position in the world, among the Top 15 in Asia and the leader in Southeast Asia.
Elsewhere, their Southeast Asian rivals Thailand and Indonesia both dropped in the FIFA rankings following their unsuccessful World Cup qualifying performances. Globally, Thailand and Indonesia were in 113th and 146th positions.
World Cup champions Argentina continued to top the world rankings, followed by France and England.
