Vietnam requests special supports for fans travelling to AFC U23 final
VOV.VN - Vietnam has asked Chinese diplomatic representative agencies in the country consider offering special supports to grant visas for Vietnamese fans seeking to enter China for the final of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship 2018 in China.

On January 24, the Head of the Consular Department of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nguyen Minh Vu, worked with representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi to draft a diplomatic note requesting that China allow flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air to carry Vietnamese fans to Changzhou for the AFC U23 Championship 2018 final.
At the meeting, Mr Vu affirmed that Vietnam’s progression to the AFC U23 final has imbued Vietnamese fans with a glow of pride, noting that the organization of flights to Changzhou will help sustain player’s good spirits and contribute to consolidating a fine relationship between the peoples of both nations.
Chinese embassy representatives also congratulated the Vietnam U23s on their success in the semi-final, adding that they will resolve the issue at the earliest time possible.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed the Vietnamese embassy in China and Vietnam’s Consulate General in Shanghai to contact Chinese agencies to request permission for flights to carry Vietnamese fans to China as soon as possible.
Earlier, Vietnamese ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi and Consul General in Shanghai Nguyen Thanh Mai congratulated the Vietnam U23 team on its excellent performance at the regional football tournament.
