Vietnam remains 146th in FIFA world ranking

Vietnam remained its 146th position out of 204 in FIFA’s March ranking, according to the Vietnam Football Federation on March 4.

Regionally, the country maintained its position as 24th in Asia and third in the Southeast Asian region.

It was not a surprise as the national team has not played any significant match since January. However, the position might be changed next month when the team will have two important matches with Taiwan (China) on March 24 and Iraq on March 29 in the qualifying rounds of World Cup 2018.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand led the rankings, followed by the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Iran came first in Asia, followed by Japan, and the Republic of Korea.

The March world rankings still saw Belgium topping, followed by Argentina, Spain and Germany.
