Vietnam rank fifth at 11th ASEAN Schools Games

Vietnam finished in fifth place at the 11th ASEAN Schools Games, which wrapped up in Indonesia on July 24.

The team earned eight golds, eight silvers and four bronzes after six days of competition in Semarang.

Most of the medals went to track-and-field athletes with Le Tien Long and Bui Thi Ngan each winning two titles. They also each set one record.

Competitors in pencak silat and table tennis contributed one silver medal each.

Hosts Indonesia topped the ranking with 43 gold medals. Thailand and Malaysia were second and third.

The next Games will be held in the Philippines in 2020.
