Vietnam jumps 7 places in FIFA rankings

VOV.VN - The Vietnam national men’s football squad jumped seven places to No. 129 in the world, according to the latest monthly FIFA rankings.

In Southeast Asia, the team remains in second place behind the Philippines. Thailand and Malaysia trail Vietnam in third and fourth place, respectively.

Vietnam jumped up the rankings thanks to victories at the Southeast Asia Football Championship. The country beat Myanmar 2-1 in the opening and Malaysia 1-0 in the second game.

These victories plus a 3-2 victory over Indonesia in a friendly on November 8 helped move the team up in the standings.

Iran is the top team in Asia, followed by the Republic of Korea and Japan in second and third place, respectively.

In world rankings, Argentina takes the top spot, with Brazil second and Germany in third place.
