Vietnam international traditional martial arts festival kicks off in Binh Dinh

VOV.VN - The seventh version of the Vietnam international traditional martial arts festival began in Quy Nhon city in the south-central province of Binh Dinh on August 8, with approximately 1,300 martial artists, local residents, and tourists in attendance at the opening ceremony.

The festival has been jointly organised by the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee along with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The opening ceremony featured an art show and demonstrations of martial arts by both domestic and international competitors.
Among the 500 martial artists taking part in the festival are 300 foreigners from 14 countries worldwide.
Ho Quoc Dung, chairman of the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee, presents a bouquet of flowers to participants.
The participating artists bring a vibrant music display to mark the opening of the festival.
A total of 60 domestic martial art teams are taking part in the occasion this year.
 
 
Foreign delegations put on an exciting show to impress crowds during the opening ceremony.
The event aims to increase mutual understanding and solidarity between domestic and foreign athletes in addition to introducing a number of unique concepts of Vietnamese traditional martial arts.
Participants will be competing for 152 sets of medals during the martial arts festival.
 
The event is set to run until August 11 in Quy Nhon city, the districts of Tay Son, and Tuy Phuoc, as well as in the town of An Nhon.
 
 
Handicapped martial artists also take part in the parade during the opening ceremony.
