Vietnam in top seed group for AFF Cup 2024 draw
VOV.VN - The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) recently announced the seeding for the upcoming draw of the 2024 edition of the ASEAN Championship, or AFF Cup 2024, with Vietnam placed in the top seed group alongside Thailand.
Thailand were placed in Pot 1 after winning championship titles seven times, whilst Vietnam were in the top seed group for being the winners of the tournament in 2008 and 2018.
Pot 2 features the likes of Indonesia and Malaysia, while Singapore and the Philippines were placed in the third group.
Myanmar and Cambodia were in Pot 4, whilst the final group comprises of Laos and either Brunei or Timor-Leste.
The teams will be divided into two groups and play in a round-robin format, with the draw scheduled to take place on May 21 in Hanoi.
The ASEAN Championship 2024 will get underway from November 23 to February 21, 2025.
The 2024 ASEAN Championship is the 15th edition of the tournament, with this also being the first edition of the tournament after being rebranded to the ASEAN Championship from the AFF Cup as it was previously known as.
